BBC Studios and Post Production takes Deal Or No Deal live!

October 2011: BBC Studios and Post Production is making Endemol’s Channel 4 blockbuster Deal or No Deal live this month. The 12 x 60 minute shows will be transmitted live over two weeks from its Bristol Paintworks studios, with live inserts from the contestants home town. The BBC’s commercial facilities business is providing full studio services, as well as multi-camera outside broadcast contributions from the 12 locations around the country.

Charlotte Forde, BBC Studios and Post Production’s Commercial Manager says: “Taking Deal or No Deal Live is hugely exciting and ambitious – we’ve had just a few weeks to get our studio facilities ready for live broadcasting. A key challenge is maintaining the show’s polish and pace, whilst making it in a completely different way - the live element should certainly bring even more adrenalin to the show!”

BBC Studios and Post Production won the contract to make Endemol’s Deal or No Deal in autumn 2010. BBC Studios and Post Production provides the technical crew, a mixture of staff and freelancers, including cameras, vision, lighting and sound. It partners with The Farm, who provide post production.

BBC Studios and Post Production makes content for all the major broadcasters. Complex, fast turnaround, large volume projects on and off site, such as Strictly Come Dancing and the award winning continuing drama EastEnders are a speciality.
